What is partner specialization? - Definition from Whatis.com

Definition

partner specialization

A partner specialization is a designation achieved when a value-added reseller (VAR), integrator or solution provider has demonstrated a particular expertise specified by its vendor. Anti-malware companies, for example, may offer partner specializations in narrower security topics, including endpoint management, data loss prevention or IT compliance.

Vendors often provide instructor-led training, in-person or online, that allows partners to achieve the desired certifications.

Partners may benefit from specializations by receiving greater rewards like higher rebates and margins. Partner specializations also allow resellers to exhibit their knowledge in a specific area that customers may struggle with.
