Cisco announces new CCNA security certification

Cisco Systems Inc. has launched a new CCNA Security course which will be administered through its Cisco Networking Academy.

The course is being offered to security professionals who already have a CCNA certification and wish to improve on their security knowledge base. Upon successful completion of the course, individuals will receive the Cisco CCNA Security certification.

The certification indicates that the person is able to implement a security infrastructure, keep track of network threats and vulnerabilities and use Cisco products to provide general security maintenance.

Prior to achieving the certification, students must take the Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS) certification exam.
