Voice over IP networks have become the hottest thing in networking, both for the efficiency of putting data and voice on one network, and the convenient additional functions VoIP provides.
But customers are still unsure about VoIP security and danger from hackers.
A survey by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), for example, estimates one-third of small- and mid-sized organizations (SMBs) will upgrade their phone systems this year, but only half of all SMBs believe VoIP security is adequate.
A new module for the network monitoring tool QRadar from Q1 Labs is designed to monitor VoIP networks to detect jitter, potential denial-of-service attacks, and intrusion attempts such as man-in-the-middle attacks.
