HP partners with Fortify Software for secure application lifecycle offering |

Fortify Software Inc. has partnered with Hewlett Packard Co. in order to improve its application lifecycle security offering.
HP Application Security Center and HP Quality Center will be integrated with Fortify 360's Static Application Security Testing technology. The results from Fortify 360's application security testing will also be incorporated into the HP Assessment Management Platform. Fortify software is used to conduct dynamic application security testing. Ultimately, the move combines Fortify's technologies with HP's web application security software.
Fortify executives said the partnership will give customers increased visibility into application security across development, quality assurance and security operations. A new dashboard will provide customers with a view of enterprise-wide application security scanning.
The integration will also allow customers to better evaluate and manage their risk levels. Fortify 360 source code security results will be merged with HP Quality Center's defect management system enabling users to submit security issues detected during source code analysis into HP Quality Center's defect management system so they can be addressed with other software defects.
The recent rash of data breaches and ever changing compliance regulations spurred this partnership.
