New IBM-Avaya partnership to cover unified communications security

IBM and VoIP equipment provider Avaya have joined forces to offer secure unified communications to enterprise and government customers.

Through the IBM-Avaya partnership, Avaya Aura will be integrated into IBM's communications services. IBM's Proventia GX 5208 and Proventia Management SiteProtector SP1001 are now compliant with Avaya's IP telephony applications.

Executives from Avaya said the partnership will improve the unified communications offerings from both companies by tightening the relationship around each company's services, solutions and security.
